New Training Structure

Effective from May 1st 2025, Think Bike Training is introducing a revised structure for individuals with no

prior experience on geared motorcycles.

The new approach is:

  1. Automatic CBT: Beginners will initially undertake their Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) on an

automatic motorcycle.

2. Post-CBT Geared Lesson (Optional): Following successful completion of the CBT on an

automatic, students will have the option to book a geared motorcycle lesson to transition to riding

geared bikes.

Benefits of the New Approach

This change aims to create a more comfortable and effective learning environment for new riders:

Reduced Initial Complexity: Starting on an automatic simplifies the initial learning curve,

allowing students to focus on essential skills like balance, control, and road awareness.

Smoother Progression: The optional geared lesson provides a structured transition for those

who wish to learn geared motorcycles, building upon the foundation established during the

automatic CBT.

Increased Confidence: By mastering the basics on an automatic, students can approach

geared bikes with greater confidence and a solid understanding of motorcycle operation.

Next Steps

If you are a new rider with no geared motorcycle experience, your CBT will be conducted on an

automatic. After completing the CBT, you can decide if you’d like to book a geared lesson. Contact

Think Bike Training if you have any questions about the new process!
