MOT Time?

MoT SymbolThere is always a lot of discussion about MOT’s and what’s actually tested. Unfortunately, the changes to MOT tests are not always well advertised so this adds to the confusion. So what should you be checking on your bike to ensure it passes?

Well for the most part, if you are doing regular checks and maintenance on your bike, then you should notice any potential issues as soon as they occur, not to mention the way your bike feels when you ride! A lot of people are worried about their bike failing MOT and the cost to put it right, but provided your bike is well maintained, it shouldn’t have a problem getting through it’s MOT. You may want to note though, the test itself does not cover the Engine, Gearbox or Clutch, so pay special attention to these items in you regular checks, and if you notice something, then get it fixed as soon as possible!
Remember that the check is there for YOUR safety, not to keep you off the road. So, keep

your bike well maintained, fix any issues that crop up, and you should have no problems!
